A Vision by Nathan
Our Roots in Resilience
In 2019, our founder, Nathan Freney, combined his passions for horticulture and disability advocacy to create Swallowtail Community & Education Inc. Nathan’s journey into horticulture began during a school-based job placement program, where he discovered his love for plants and the environment.
He deepened his knowledge by earning certifications in Land Management and Horticulture. Living with Asperger’s Syndrome, Nathan faced significant challenges and skepticism, including doubts about his ability to complete a Certificate III in Horticulture. Undeterred, he persevered, affirming, “You can do anything if you have the right support team.”
At Swallowtail Community & Education Inc, we design personalized workshops and programs tailored to individual learning styles and support needs. Our approach emphasizes practical, hands-on experience in a commercial nursery setting, bridging the gap between traditional education and the unique requirements of our participants.
We invite you to become part of our vibrant community, where we nurture not only plants but also potential. Together, we cultivate a future where the horticulture industry thrives on diversity, inclusion, and opportunity for all.
